‘Loveliness of Ladybirds’ was created with ink, watercolour, oil pastel and collage on watercolour paper. With their eye-catchingly cute shiny wings, the ladybird was my inspiration for this piece. While their red and black wings are the stars of the show, the background of yellow ochres and fresh greens indicate that these little beetles make an essential and valuable contribution to the terrain they exist in.
