‘Maybe a Rudbeckia’ explores the florals of my childhood in Canada growing up next to a sparkling freshwater lake. These florals were nestled next to the cottage walls, or poking up through the forest floor. All making appearances in spring, summer and fall. For me, cold weather florals are nostalgic and almost unattainable here in WA and painting them brings me a sense of peacefulness.
